Salaries and Benefits

General Issues:
- Salary increases in the 2010 contract that exceed the increased cost of living
- Additional salary steps at the top of the scale for all ranks and titles
- Eliminate longevity steps on salary scales; increases to be effective after one year
- No give-backs of retroactive pay
- Full funding of the Welfare Fund by the city not from members back pay or dues
- Fiscal transparency in union spending
- Fiscal transparency for the Welfare Fund
- Restore dental benefits to the levels before the New Caucus decimated the Welfare Fund
- Reinstatement of surviving spouse benefit from the Welfare Fund
- Eliminate double dues payments
(full-time faculty, HEOs, and CLTs who are also adjuncts pay dues on their full-time salary and on their adjunct salary)
- Facilitate low cost mortgages for young faculty and staff
- Expand TRANSITCHEK to cover all MTA agencies including LIRR and Metro North
- Free parking on your campus
Full-time faculty issues:
- Salary increases in the 2010 contract that exceed the increased cost of living
- Additional salary steps at the top of the scales
- Eliminate longevity steps on salary scales; increases to be effective after one year
- Faculty control of PSC-CUNY Research Grant disbursements
- Restrict sick days (temporary disability) to when classes are in session
- Revisit research time provisions to provide flexibility for faculty
- Lower teaching loads for full-time faculty
- Workload parity at NYCCT with other senior CUNY colleges
- Increase bankable sick days to 200 from 160
- Reinstate the proper role of Student Life faculty counselors
- Eliminate double dues payments
- Reinstatement of surviving spouse benefit from the Welfare Fund
- Restore dental benefits to the levels before the New Caucus decimated the Welfare Fund
HEO issues:
- Salary increases in the 2010 contract that exceed the increased cost of living
- Additional salary steps at the top of the scales
- Eliminate longevity steps on salary scales; increases to be effective after one year
- Institute promotional opportunities
- Strengthen job protection
- Eliminate double dues payments
- Reinstatement of surviving spouse benefit from the Welfare Fund
- Restore dental benefits to the levels before the New Caucus decimated the Welfare Fund
CLT issues:
- Salary increases in the 2010 contract that exceed the increased cost of living
- Additional salary steps at the top of the scales
- Eliminate longevity steps on salary scales; increases to be effective after one year
- Expand promotional opportunities
- Eliminate Double dues payments
- Salary differentials for certificates or degrees in high tech or medical fields
- Reinstatement of surviving spouse benefit from the Welfare Fund
- Restore dental benefits to the levels before the New Caucus decimated the Welfare Fund
Adjunct issues:
- Salary increases in the 2010 contract that exceed the increased cost of living
- Real salary increases
- Additional salary steps at the top of the scales
- City health coverage that can be carried into retirement. Currently adjunct health coverage is paid from the Welfare Fund and ceases upon retirement.
- All adjuncts to have equal access to the Adjunct Professional Development Fund money
- 15 hours pay for every credit hour taught
Retiree issues:
- Eliminate the $50 deductible for prescription drugs
- Reinstatement of surviving spouse benefit from the Welfare Fund
- Fiscal transparency for the Welfare Fund
- Restore dental benefits to the levels before the New Caucus decimated the Welfare Fund
Research Assistant and Research Associate issues:
- Salary increases in the 2010 contract that exceed the increased cost of living
- Equal access to professional development funds
CUNY ALLIANCE will not be demonstrating outside the Chancellor's residence, instead we will be at CUNY CENTRAL negotiating salaries and benefits for our members!
