The CUNY Alliance

Beware of the New Caucus election-year sellout

After more than 3 years without a contract, the New Caucus now says that a deal is close. (Click here)

And after claiming in the past that a salary increase that doesn't keep up with inflation is unacceptable (Clarion page 12 paragraphs 3-4), the New Caucus has now offered to accept just that.

  • Their deal would give us a 9.5 % salary increase over 4 years (Click here): that's 3% less than the cost of living increase over the last 40 months---a big pay cut in real terms.

  • The New Caucus deal is also far less than the 15% that our SUNY colleagues achieved.
    (Page 2, first paragraph)

Accepting a bad deal only days before an election means only one thing:

The New Caucus thinks any deal - even a bad one - will help them get re-elected

The New Caucus spent $60 million of our dues over 6 years and couldn't deliver a deal that is acceptable by their own (pre-campaign) standards, so now they're poised to sell us out.

Tell the New Caucus leaders that their empty rhetoric and bad deals are unacceptable and that it's time for them to go.

THE INCUMBENT "NEW" CAUCUS IS NOW OLD

It's time to change union leaders
