Edward Catapane is a Professor of Biology at Medgar Evers College. He was Chair of the Department of Biology for 13 years. He has been heavily involved in grant funded programs designed to increase the number of underrepresented individuals completing undergraduate degrees in sciences and going on to graduate and professional schools in biology and medicine, as well as having an active physiology research program, with over 100 articles and presentations on his research work. Edward has been an active member of the PSC during his entire 30 year CUNY career, initially serving as a Chapter Member-at-Large, then as Vice-Chair and currently Chapter Chair since 1998. He also has been active in the college's Faculty Senate throughout his career and has been an Executive Member for most of his tenure.
